How we choose
We list a grooming vacuum, a brush and a cheap roller because those are the three tools that make shedding cleanup quicker. We pick items with a long review history that were in stock with Prime when we checked. We show no prices, because Amazon prices change; the link takes you to the current one. We may earn a commission, and it never changes your result: the result comes from your three answers before any product is shown. Full editorial policy.
Questions
Why does my dog shed so much?
Dogs lose old hair all year, with heavier coat changes in spring and fall. Dogs with a thick undercoat, like Huskies, Goldens and Labs, lose the most. Shedding with bald patches, red or itchy skin, or a dull coat is worth a call to your vet.
Does a grooming vacuum stop shedding?
No. Nothing you buy makes a dog shed less. A grooming vacuum or a brush only takes loose hair off your dog before it lands on your floor, so cleanup is quicker.
Will my dog accept a grooming vacuum?
Not every dog does. It is loud. Let your dog sniff it while it is off, start on the lowest speed, give treats, and stop if your dog is scared. A brush on its own is a fine start.
Not veterinary advice. Shedding with bald patches, sores or sudden changes is a question for your vet.
